Chalet Eiger

CHALET EIGER was opened in 2006 and takes its name from one of the three famous alpine peaks in central Switzerland. These peaks are mirrored by three volcanic hills on the southern shores of Lake Taupo.

Peter and Nina took over the Lodge in April 2017 after many years of tife in the Public and ICT sectors in Wellington & Auckland. By the way, there are two other members of staff (Rufus the dog & Floyd the cat) who cannot always control their excitement when meeting guests so if you would rather not meet them or have any allergies, please let us know in advance and we will ensure they are kept “under the stairs”. We provide a relaxed, informal environment in which our guests can feel at home, we try to meet most of your needs, we actively engage with our guests and are keen to learn of their own environment as we share ours. We especially enjoy recommending to our guests, New Zealand wineries!
