This iconic century old Owhango Post Office has been converted into two distinct guest wings, with the option of booking the entire inter-connectable Lodge to accommodate up to 18 guests in one 7-bedroom haven, complete with Finnish sauna cabin, hot-tub spa-pool and fire-pit.
A perfect location for groups of couples, corporate retreats and family groups wanting their own gorgeous opulent stay in this iconic historic building, located in the little village of Owhango, known as “Basecamp to the Ruapehu District”. Whether you are mountain-bikers, trek hikers, or ski-bunnies, or you love deer hunting or trout fishing, this King Country location, is the epitome of bordering Tongariro Forest, with National Park the next village … and both the famous ‘42 Traverse’ trail, and world-class fly-fishing a short walk away. •A second fully-equipped Kitchen-Dining-Laundry in the East-Wing

•Bedding can be included for an 18th person to sleep on the Lounge 3-seater Couch (NB: it is not a sofa-bed, it is a regular settee)
If just going for the weekend, we suggest on the Friday night you sip mulled-wine and toast marshmallows to make s’mores, then on the Saturday night maybe enjoy your own 1920s Agatha Christie Cluedo-style Murder Mystery evening!

Located along the main highway 15mins south from Taumarunui, and 15mins north from National Park Village.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your booking more than 21 days before arrival you will receive a 50% refund of monies paid. No refund is provided if you cancel within 21 days of arrival or in the case of a no show. Travel insurance is highly recommended. COVID lockdown related cancellations - we are happy to wipe cancellation fees and transfer your booking to another date - additional charges may apply if you are transferring to a higher seasonal rate.
