nzbiketrails
Details
Luxury e-bike hire and shuttle operator on both the Dunstan Trail and Wanaka Trails.
nzbiketrails provides shuttles and bike hire experiences to guests who are visiting Wanaka, Queenstown, Cromwell and Clyde.
We run a brand new fleet of Specialized Rockhopper Elite Regular bikes and Sinch e-bikes (the latter being a brand recommend by NZ's Consumer Organisation) and our transport is a luxury Mercedes Sprinter.
We host guests on some of the best one-day trails in New Zealand including:
1. The recently opened Dunstan Trail (May 2021). Hiring e-bikes on the 42km Trail that runs along Lake Dunstan between Cromwell and Clyde. This trail is a feat of engineering including 450m of trail 'clipped onto' the mountainside, the Hugo Suspension Bridge, Carrick Winery and even a Coffee & Burger Bar served off a boat along the trail. We even have an option for a boat return up the lake - a 1 hour experience that takes you up close to the goldminers hut, pickaxe and suspension bridge - with luxury shuttles to get you to the boat. You can either meet nzbiketrails in Cromwell (45mins drive from both Wanaka and Queenstown) or be shuttled in from Wanaka. Please note that we only hire e-bikes on this trail for Safety reasons. With no road access for the last 25km you can choose the level of assistance that you require - you can even ride them in 'Off' mode if you are a keen and regular rider.
2. The Wanaka and Hawea Trails - Grade 1 to 2 family friendly. 30km of riding on either hired bikes or e-bikes. nzbiketrails shuttles you out to Hawea to cycle back along the Hawea and Clutha rivers to Wanaka. This is one of the most scenic and beautiful rides in the South Island. With approximately 3 hours riding you have plenty of time to visit Lake Hawea, Albert Town, Pembroke Patisserie and Wanaka along the way.
These 2 rides make a fantastic 2-3 day trip, based out of Wanaka, for those companies wanting to pull together a short-break package or ensure that a 5* rated company hosts their guests to the highest standards as part of a larger tour.

Your obligations

Your safety is our number one priority – no helmet, no ride and no refunds and we may have to withdraw your hire for this reason. nzbiketrails uses very high-quality Specialized Camber helmets (with MIP’s protection) that are available in small, medium and large.
Once the bike is in your possession, you are responsible for the bike and equipment. You must lock the bike every time it is out of your sight.
Please support our team members throughout your safety discussions. These are important to ensure that you safely enjoy your ride.
You are responsible and liable for the repair or replacement costs of the cycle and equipment that is not the result of fair wear and tear.
You acknowledge that you are physically fit enough and that there is no health or other reason why you should not use participate in this activity.
