Hours: First Ride: 10:00am

KJet is the only Jet boat operator in Queenstown that operates on three waterways - Lake Wakatipu and the mighty Shotover & Kawarau Rivers, with a 60 minute trip full of 360 degree spins, thrills, speeds of up to 95kph and lots of smiles!

The world’s first commercial Jet boating operation, KJet has its origins in a Christian Youth Trust, set up to ensure the ‘spiritual, moral and physical wellbeing of the young people in Otago and Southland in the late 1950's.’
Holidaymakers staying at the Lakeland Christian Camp lined up for rides in the exciting new boat, and at five shillings per ride, Queenstown’s most successful and enduring tourist operation ‘Kawarau Jet Services’ was born.
With the growth in Queenstown services, the departures moved from the Frankton Jetty to the Main Town Pier, where it still operates today as KJet.
Still a locally owned and operated business, Shaun Kelly has been a partner in KJet since September 1987. Shaun and his wife Sally run the operation alongside business partners Skeggs Group and KJet has recently celebrated 60 years of being the world’s first commercial Jet boat operator in 2018.
