Kepler Mountain View Alpacas
Details
Hours: 10.30am to 5pm daily
A working Alpaca Farm offering true alpaca encounters in their normal farm setting. A sustainable operation where alpacas are breed for their fibre, a large percentage of fibre is hand processed onsite and made into wearable art which is for sale in the farm shop along with other NZ alpaca products manufactured by small family owned businesses in New Zealand.
Kepler Mountain View Alpacas is a working Alpaca farm owned by Jessie and Ray Haanen where our alpacas are bred and farmed for their beautiful luxury fibre
Jessie uses their fibre to hand create unique fine accessories from her studio on the farm and these and other alpaca products are for sale at Wild Wool Gallery located next to her studio. During your alpaca encounter there will be plenty of time to walk amongst the alpacas and interact with them while learning about them and the farming of them - they are naturally curious and they will come up to you provided you move around quietly and dont make sudden movements. Wear sturdy shoes as you will go into paddocks and we provide covers for your shoes. We only take small groups to enable a personal interaction and for you to get the best out of your visit. Photos are permitted on the tour, in fact there are some real posers and expect to get a nose right up to your camera plus lots of great selfies. We will also take photos with your camera for you and your group. Our on-farm shop Wild Wool Gallery features Jessie's work along with quality New Zealand made alpaca products including hats, scarves, blankets, duvets, toys and souvenirs. For those Knitters we have a wide colour range of our spun alapac fibre and also sell our alpaca fibre in roving. Spoil yourself, or buy a gift for someone you love! Bring your camera! We have a rest room onsite for clients to ensure they can wash and sanitise their hands during their time on the farm.
